What is the opportunity?
The Senior Manager, Network Compliance and Controls will be responsible for strategic oversight and execution of all network-related compliance processes. This includes working with network technology platform owners to ensure all key controls, processes, and associated procedures are effectively documented, enforced, and regularly assessed for robustness.
This role requires a strong leader who can effectively track compliance commitments, ensure periodic tasks are completed, conduct control effectiveness assessments, and lead audit interactions. The Senior Manager will also implement proactive governance mechanisms, ensuring audit readiness, regulatory adherence, and management oversight.
What will you do?
Develop and implement a comprehensive network compliance framework that aligns with internal policies, regulatory expectations, and industry best practices.
Serve as a key advisor to senior management on network compliance risks, regulatory challenges, and audit findings.
Act as a liaison between Network Technology, Risk, Compliance, Internal Audit, and Regulators to address compliance-related issues and ensure alignment across teams.
Establish clear compliance ownership across network teams, ensuring accountability and governance mechanisms are in place.
Maintain a centralized inventory of all key network controls, ensuring processes and procedures are well-documented, periodically reviewed, and auditable.
Work closely with network technology platform owners to assess whether network controls and procedures are robust enough to satisfy auditors.
Ensure all required compliance artifacts (e.g., evidence of control execution, log reviews, and procedural documentation) are created, stored, and easily retrievable for audit purposes.
Collaborate with Risk and Compliance teams to ensure network control frameworks remain aligned with evolving regulatory requirements.
Foster a culture of compliance within Network Services by providing ongoing training and awareness programs to enhance adherence to policies and procedures.
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have:
Advanced level of understanding of network infrastructure, security controls, and compliance frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001, COBIT, SOX, PCI-DSS)
Knowledge of RBC Network Infrastructure including TCP/IP, MPLS, OSPF, BGP, VRF’s.
Familiarity with network hardware –eg: scopes, modems, routers, switches, PIXes CSS, Nokia Checkpoint, GSS, F5-LTM/GTM, Sidewinder, Xtera, ONS, Nortel Contivity etc.
Proven team player with strong verbal and written communication skills, takes ownership of tasks, projects and follows through on obligations and deliverables.
Dedicated to meeting the needs of internal and external clients, establishes and maintains key relationships, and gains our client’s trust and respect.
Detail oriented and process driven, with strong administrative skills, ability to multi-task, prioritize and handle high pressure situations.
Nice-to-have:
PMP Certified.
Knowledge of ITIL.
