What is the opportunity?

We are looking for an experienced Portfolio Manager, for our London office. The successful candidate will have experience in stock analysis (US, UK and European equities), an interest in maintaining deep knowledge and understanding of approximately 40 companies. In addition, you will have the confidence, gravitas and ability to discuss the detail of such companies with existing clients and prospects.

What will you do?

  • Analyse client’s aims and needs to construct solutions and portfolios as a tool to communicate to clients, either direct or via a Wealth Manager.

  • Produce proposals and analytical information to an excellent standard to support Wealth Management colleagues with client advice and relationships

  • Deliver ongoing monitoring and review, making or suggesting changes where appropriate to deliver continued suitability of investments

  • Review, analyse and make discretionary changes to client portfolios in reaction to market forces or changing client circumstances using own knowledge, Research Department outputs and with the input of more senior Portfolio Managers and Wealth Managers

  • Dealing, bespoke and across team models

  • Build rapport and interact with clients and professionals across the industry effectively

  • Where Authorised: Understands and complies with all of the relevant regulations and principles applying to the role as a Certified Person with the Regulator

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • In-depth knowledge of portfolio management

  • In-depth understanding of financial markets/risk management techniques/regulatory requirements

  • CFA qualification

  • Strong excel skills to maintain investment models and subsequent client materials

  • Up to date knowledge of the market and regulation changes through Continuous Professional development (CPD)

  • Excellent presentation skills

Nice-to-have

  • Achieved Competent Advisor Status (CAS) in order to support Wealth Managers with client relationships by providing advice on portfolio changes or making discretionary changes

  • In absence of this, a willingness to obtain CAS if successful
