What is the opportunity?
In this role you will direct the strategic design, development and delivery of portfolio analytics, and insights for GRM Caribbean Banking. You will be responsible for design and implementation of the data governance, infrastructure, and strategy around the historical modeling of datasets used for the calibration of IFRS9, ICAAP and stress testing statistical models. You will adhere with established team routines, such as; developing standards, UX Design Framework, Governance Framework, and administrative processes, and will serve as SME and COE to drive innovation via a variety of data sources within the Caribbean and the Enterprise.
What will you do?
- Focus on quality, accuracy and consistency of information provided and support the Head Risk Management with portfolio insights for Caribbean Banking
- Manage activities through senior managers and manage and implement strategic plans to drive efficiencies across the teams supporting GRM Caribbean
- Be a thought partner within the GRM team, support the developments of insights, processes, develop best practices, new data technology and share information that is valued by partners across Caribbean Banking
- Be an SME on data governance and infrastructure, including understanding of products, data management and business practices
- Oversee data integration, data analytics, and reporting to meet business requirements
- Implement mechanisms to improve efficiencies via automation and ensuring that information provided is accurate, meaningful, has integrity, and caters to the needs of the decision makers
- Direct, motivate, develop, and manage the performance of the management team and key staff
- Support and recommend product and risk policy discussions with key decision makers and partner across all Lines of Business.
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have
- Bachelor’s Degree
- 10+ years relevant experience in the financial services industry, particularly within an environment using/producing data analytics and insights,
- Sound knowledge of advanced programming/coding skills
- Experience in statistical methods, strong data profiling, cleaning, and mining, ability to perform complex data analysis on large volumes of data and present findings to senior leaders and inform strategic decisions.
- Sound knowledge of big data modeling capabilities, and programming experience with large databases/datasets using tools such SAS, WebFocus, Python, Hadoop (HIVE, Pig), Datameer, SQL Server, and Teradata SQL Assistant
Nice-to-have
- Master’s Degree or equivalent
- Knowledge in the areas of stress testing, predictive models is an asset
