What is the opportunity?
The Alternative Investments Product Analyst will be an integral member of the alternative investment product team and serves as the primary platform support for alternative investment sold across the RBC U.S. Wealth Management distribution channel. This role assists in the management of key strategic initiatives and vendor relationships designed to support the alternative investments platform(s). This role is directly aligned to functional and organizational responsibilities around client service and operational risk management.
What will you do?
- Act as the performance reporting analyst/point of contact for Financial Advisors and other internal business lines.
- Responsible for data reconciliation of Private Capital and Hedge Fund cash flows and statements between RBC system and fund sponsors / fund administrators; analyze fund quarterly financial statement
- Oversee capital call and distribution notices and analyze performance and cash flow details, and resolve issues with fund manager if applicable.
- Drive initiatives regarding Alternative Investment workflow with third party performance vendor, project team and internal business lines.
- Ensure alternative investment K1 tax document is delivered to financial advisors and end client by fund’s reported timeline; maintain spreadsheet of communicated dates.
- Monitor alternative investment product inbox and action on emails, completely, accurately and timely.
- Assist with routine and ad-hoc administrative activities, including security setup, information collection, prospectus monitoring, and maintain fund attributes in third party database.
- Support the Alternatives Product Manager on projects required to ensure compliance with regulators, competitiveness, and advisor satisfaction.
- Assist in development and execution of key strategic initiatives, particularly with regards to alternatives
- Identify appropriate solutions to product and business challenges, and manage the implementation of enhancements to existing program
What do you need to succeed?
Must Have
- 2+ years financial markets experience in Alternative Investments
- 2+ years Alternative Investment performance reporting, date reconciliation and aggregation experience
- Undergraduate degree (BA / BS) with preferred concentration in business, economics, finance, or marketing.
- Advanced knowledge of financial markets and investment industry.
- Advanced knowledge of alternative investment products
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and Excel Spreadsheet – including but not limited to V - Look up; Pivot Tables etc. Ability to adapt to changing technology
- Detail-oriented, strong communicator, self-starter, strategic thinker who can build efficiencies
Nice to Have
- Securities industry licenses 7, 63 and 65, or series 66; or willingness to become licensed.
- Ability to liaise with other internal business lines and external clients, funds, and vendors

The good-faith expected salary range for the above position is $50,000 - $85,000, depending on factors including but not limited to the candidate’s experience, skills, registration status; market conditions; and business needs. This salary range does not include other elements of total compensation, including a discretionary bonus and benefits such as a 401(k) program with company-matching contributions; health, dental, vision, life and disability insurance; and paid time-off plan.
