Job Description

What is the opportunity?

Accounts Payable Assistant, to be based in our Smithfield Street office.

What will you do?

  • Support the business in raising accurate purchase orders and processing invoices for suppliers using our P2P platform (Coupa).

  • Reconcile supplier accounts and resolve supplier queries in a professional and timely manner.

  • Prepare and process BACS payments and manual payments using the P2P system, accounts software and online banking.

  • Ensure transactions are authorised within the delegated limits of authority.

  • Review and process a high volume of employee expense claims, ensuring claims are within the company’s expense policy.

  • Perform month end reconciliations and post accurate journals within the accounting system to reallocate costs.

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • Minimum of A-Levels or equivalent (Maths or similar discipline preferred).

  • Basic knowledge of Excel.

  • Excellent communication skills.

Nice-to-have

  • Experience within a finance department would be helpful but is not an essential requirement.

  • Intermediate ability with Excel including the use of tables and lookups.

  • Experience of a busy environment and prioritising your own workload to meet varied demands.
