Job Description

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Production of marketing materials for existing and target clients
  • Provide data analysis, including statistical stratification of collateral portfolios, historical performance statistics, projection of future performance expectations, and derivation of expected case losses
  • Assist with preparation of materials and participate in the com-com (business approval) process
  • Assist with client sponsorship review
  • Assist in the preparation of credit write-ups (Transaction Request) that contain transaction terms and conditions. Coordination of review and approval of Transaction Requests by Group Risk Management and the conduit equity provider (where applicable)
  • Assist in preparing RFPs and Information Memorandums, when applicable
  • Assist in conducting client, seller, servicer due diligence. Prepare due diligence report
  • Assist with structuring of securitization transactions
  • Work with client and attorneys to develop and negotiate transaction legal documentation
  • Liaise with rating agencies to obtain rating agency approval of transactions
  • Assist clients in developing custom, menu driven settlement reports designed specifically to meet the terms and conditions of each transaction, where applicable (Client’s Seller Report)
  • Work with clients to extract historical portfolio information and build credit enhancement model
  • Prepare and input required KME templates
  • Assist in annual renewals of existing transactions
  • Help run transaction returns and optimize financial resources consumed
  • Assist in ongoing review and compliance of existing transaction performance (at least monthly)
  • Assist in preparing scope, review and comment on initial and annual transaction AUPs
  • Help with the maintenance of client relationships
  • Other deal/client transaction maintenance as require
  • Proactively identify operational risks/ control deficiencies in the business.
  • Review and comply with Firm Policies applicable to your business activities
  • Escalate operational risk loss events, control deficiencies and risks that you identify to your line manager and the relevant risk and control functions promptly.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Masters or Undergraduate Degree (Finance, Economics, Mathematics or Liberal Arts preferred)
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of relevant experience preferred
  • Relevant securitization experience preferred
  • Solid understanding of credit markets
  • Ambitious individual with strong presentation skills
  • Possess strong written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize and effectively manage a large workload in a high-pressure environment
  • Ability to multi-task with little supervision
  • Ability to inter-act effectively & establish good working relationships with other personnel within RBC Capital Markets and external clients
  • High proficiency in Word, PowerPoint & Excel
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills

AUTHORITIES, IMPACT, RISK

  • The position is based in New York.
  • The employee is expected to conduct themselves in a manner that is consistent with the Securitization Finance group’s business strategy of providing high quality products and services for RBC’s clients.
  • Employee is expected to identify and quantify the materiality of transaction and product risk, thereby providing a favourable risk/return profile for RBC in its various capacities.
  • All respective approvals (business, credit, conduit) will be obtained for all transactions and activities as needed.
  • Risks inherent in the Securitization Finance business include: credit risk, liquidity risk, documentation risk, mismatch risk, structural risk, servicing/administrative risk, complexity risk and reputational risk.

The good-faith expected salary range for the above position is $125,000 - $175,000 depending on factors including but not limited to the candidate’s experience, skills, registration status; market conditions; and business needs. This salary range does not include other elements of total compensation, including a discretionary bonus and benefits such as a 401(k) program with company-matching contributions; health, dental, vision, life and disability insurance; and paid time-off plan.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Position may entail travel, domestic and international
  • Considerable attention to detail and accuracy is a must requirement
  • Hours can be long and unpredictable at times
  • Workday starts at 8:30am or earlier in the office.
