WHAT IS THIS OPPORTUNITY?
RBC’s Office of the US CIO is responsible for the oversight of all technology supporting the firm’s Combined US Operations (CUSO). The CUSO includes Capital Markets, Wealth Management, City National Bank, RBC Bank (US), Global Asset Management, and Functions within the US.
This unique role combining business analysis and program/project management is accountable to the US CIO for the definition, requirements, delivery of the US CIO Technology Programs. This hands-on role is responsible for directly contributing to project functional/technical/quality analysis and owning the management, spend, and delivery of technology projects supporting cross-LOB technical, regulatory and business-driven initiatives. Finally, this role is responsible for ensuring consistency of execution assurance across technology projects supporting the CUSO, in terms of enterprise standards, regulatory alignment, governance, risk management, and value realization.
WHAT WILL YOU DO?
Establish, develop, and maintain strong relationships with Sponsors, Stakeholders, RBC businesses, US IT and enterprise IT partners
Champion strong project governance and execution assurance processes.
Be agile to transition between critical efforts requiring attention and be able to juggle multiple priorities, with focus on attention to detail
Prepare presentation decks for senior executives, regulators, internal audit and CUSO Boards
Remove impediments to delivery success through the proactive management of risks, issues and external/internal dependencies and problem-solving, considering options and identifying solutions.
Serve as a single point of responsibility for oversight and execution on projects for or across RBC entities in the US
Wear many hats while leading or contributing to CUSO efforts including business and technical analysis, project quality assurance, and project management
Manage project plans, status and steering committee materials/meetings in line with regulatory and enterprise standards
Facilitate and engage in business analysis, user experience and technical conversations across platforms, coordinating with CUSO architecture as appropriate
Perform gap analysis between current and future states; assess and recommend highest value-added solution options
WHAT DO YOU NEED TO SUCCEED?
Must Have:
Project manager with 10+ years’ experience in large banking and IT environments, with strong execution experience on regulatory and large change/transformation initiatives
10+ years’ experience in project delivery with waterfall and agile teams with a track record of delivering projects on time and under budget
Understanding of IT Risk and Regulatory requirements to incorporate into project analysis and delivery
Experience within financial services sector supporting and delivering regulatory, technical or business projects
Experience managing complex initiatives across disparate stakeholders
Creative ability to consolidate and present information
Experience scheduling activities across all delivery teams to deliver a common capability
Strong communication skills with ability to work cross-functionally to articulate, measure and solve issues
Excellent documentation, attention to detail, thoroughness and strong ownership of work
Advanced skills with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PPT, Project)
Deadline-driven and results-oriented; able to meet consistently high-quality standards while handling a variety of tasks and deadlines simultaneously

The good-faith expected salary range for the above position is $110,000 - $190,000 depending on factors including but not limited to the candidate’s experience, skills, registration status; market conditions; and business needs. This salary range does not include other elements of total compensation, including a discretionary bonus and benefits such as a 401(k) program with company-matching contributions; health, dental, vision, life and disability insurance; and paid time-off plan.
