Your role

Are you an expert on the Volcker Rule? Do you know how to Identify, analyze and assess regulatory risks? Are you interested in joining a global team that overseas regulatory requirements and control frameworks? Do you have experience with providing guidance, conducting risk assessments, testing & monitoring and regulatory risk assessments. We're looking for someone like that to:

• Actively participate in the development and execution of our team’s annual testing and monitoring plans
• Adhere and execute against governance testing and monitoring standards
• Identify and evaluate the effectiveness of existing controls, processes, and policies & procedures
• Ensure comprehensive work papers and results are maintained to support test and monitoring results and Non-Financial Risk issue rating justifications
• Escalate and report identified issues to UBS senior management and Governance forums
• Strong ability to write clear, concise testing reports while negotiating and presenting testing findings against Rule requirements
• contribute as an assessor in the execution of the annual rules-based Compliance Risk Assessments
• perform second line of defense monitoring of certain processes and key controls that impact compliance with rules
• Strong Ability to lead and supervise complex control and rules-based testing efforts in accordance with governance and testing standards.

Your team

You’ll be working on the Volcker Regulatory Governance Team (“VRG”), a unit within Compliance and Operational Risk Control (C&ORC). We are a cross-divisional team that conducts independent testing and monitoring of controls and compliance frameworks related to the management of Volcker compliance risks across all UBS businesses and support units (i.e., compliance, information technology, operations, finance, etc.) within the Combined US Operations (“CUSO”) to ensure compliance with Section 619 of the Dodd-Frank Act (the “Volcker Rule”).

Your expertise

You'll have:
• A university degree in finance, economics, business administration or numerical discipline
• J.D., M.B.A. or other relevant advanced degree strongly preferred
• Several years of experience in the financial services industry
• In-house audit at a financial institution or examination experience at a financial industry regulator
• Knowledge of financial products and services offered by investment banks
• Working knowledge of the Volcker Rule and other of U.S. securities laws & regulations as well as SRO rules

• Team-orientated, while able to complete tasks independently
• Motivated, diligent, conscientious, highly organized, detail-oriented, accurate and able to drive tasks to closure.
