The specialist will serve as the primary resource for advice on all aspects of equity investing for a select group of Ultra High Net Worth Financial Advisors and their clients. This includes communicating macro commentary, portfolio positioning advice and recommendations to UBS WM USA Advisors and clients. The successful candidate will be expected to proactively contribute ideas with the Desk which will shared more broadly with Financial Advisors as well as with colleagues in trading, research, the Investment Bank, CIO, National Sales, etc. The role will report directly to the head of the Equity Advisory Desk while working closely with the Head of Options Strategy.

We are opportunistically seeking an equity/options/technical subject matter expert to join the Equity Advisory Group within Unified Global Markets.

Your expertise

• passion with a demonstrated interest in the financial markets.
• basic understanding of financial instruments, asset classes, macroeconomic & geopolitical drivers, intermarket relationships, and statistics.
• experience in reviewing and understanding fundamental research reports.
• detail oriented with the ability to communicate findings/recommendations in simple business terms to clients and financial advisors verbally and in writing.
• comfortable in presenting ideas to small to medium groups in person, over the phone, and using video software.
• ability to analyze data presented in charts or datasets to “connect the dots” and draw logical conclusions based on the technical analyst’s toolkit..
• multi-task in a fast-paced environment without sacrificing quality.
• ability to read an options chain and understand basic option strategies (e.g., long put/call, short put/call).
• comfortable working with large numerical datasets.
• advanced MS Excel and PowerPoint skills with the ability to manage large files.
• willingness to pursue the CMT designation and satisfy the requirements to obtain certification in a timely manner.
• previous experience and comfort with charting platforms (e.g., Bloomberg, Optuma, Updata, TradeStation, etc.).
