Your role

Are you someone who enjoys working with leveraged finance transactions in a fast paced environment? Are you interested in forming credit opinions and interfacing with decision makers across the firm?
We are looking for someone like this to:
- Work on a team responsible for the underwriting and portfolio management of loans to borrowers in various industries, with a focus on leveraged lending
- Conduct due diligence and perform fundamental credit analysis to provide independent risk recommendations to senior risk and front office management
- Engage with and challenge front office teams to ensure transactions are consistent with UBS's risk appetite and regulatory expectations
- Closely monitor business, financial, and industry developments to maintain up to date risk ratings and portfolio outlooks

Your team

The Credit Risk Control (CRC) team is responsible for independently assessing risks arising from the origination and distribution of institutional loans, with a focus on leveraged finance transactions. The team engages in extensive due diligence during the underwriting process to challenge front office deal recommendations and ensure transactions are consistent with UBS's risk appetite and regulatory expectations. Following underwriting, the team closely monitors business, financial, and industry developments to assess performance relative to underwriting expectations and ensure risk ratings are up to date. The team is located in UBS's New York office and reports into the firm's Chief Risk Officer.

Your expertise

- 1-5 years of experience working with leveraged finance transactions in a credit risk or similar role
- Strong credit background with a solid grasp of underwriting and loan portfolio management
- Sound understanding of regulatory expectations for the leveraged lending business and experience with the SNC review process
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong presence and ability to convey complex messages to varying audiences
- Minimum of a bachelor's degree; MBA and/or CFA a plus
