We’re looking for a High Grade Municipal Trader to:
• be responsible for all elements of running a high grade muni flow book focusing on 15 years and shorter. You will have the lead responsibility in managing this book together with a team of traders.
• back-up other high grade traders
• responsibility for working with competitive underwriting by providing market color and pricing on high grade transactions
• actively hedging your book for both DV01 and CR01 risk using various instruments
• understand all credit sectors in your universe of bonds working with desk analytics as needed
• trade bonds from a risk position but also facilitating riskless crosses and working on customer inquiry and situations
• develop customer relationships and engage directly with the customer base as well as with sale

You’ll be working in the Municipal Trading team in New York. We provide company research-based advice and ideas, macro-economic commentary market information, market commentary and general account management. As a High Grade Municipal Trader, you'll be part of a dynamic team which offer high touch order handling and execution services, supported by robust technology to our clients.

Your expertise

• extensive market making experience in the municipal market
• strong understanding of municipal credits as well as macro-economic factors affecting the value and flows of bonds
• knowledge of the trading protocols, market levels and risk management of the product
• ability to market your bids, offers and trade ideas you will be required to be a good communicator using both voice and written forms
• effectively engage customers and develop deep relationships with portfolio managers, traders and credit staff
• must be facile in hedging instruments including cash treasuries, treasury futures, options on treasury futures and IG CDX, and MMD Rate Locks
• expert knowledge of the regulatory framework in municipal securities and to be well versed in internal policies and procedures
