Responsibilities will include (but not limited to):
•act as a point of contact within the global IB Business Risk Management (IB BRM) for stakeholders within the first, second and third lines of defense
•understand and monitor the operational risk portfolio of the IB and advise and support the business on its sustainable and timely remediation activities
•monitor the delivery of the front to back control environment by driving best practice for controls design and operating effectiveness
•work with IB business and COO stakeholders championing best practice and striving for global consistency and ensure effective and efficient front-to-back processes in line with applicable policies and guidelines
•assist with new business initiatives, regulatory investigations, and ad-hoc requests
•prepare concise, transparent, and meaningful risk reporting to management, auditors, and regulators
•take an active role in operational risk change initiatives working closely with stakeholders across the Investment Bank COO and other functions globally
•provide proactive and constructive challenge in all aspects of the role, encouraging best practice, innovation and efficiency
•focus on execution and problem solving, organization and thoroughness

The COO team is a highly strategic and cross-functional team that is responsible for the formulation, implementation and support of the sales strategy/initiatives, and processes that impact our client’s experience. This is a diverse role spanning across Franchise as well as parts of front to back controls. Members of the team will have broad exposure across the Global Markets business, often collaborating and partnering with sales teams, management, and support teams.

Your expertise

•knowledge of operational risk frameworks, controls, financial instruments and of front to back processes and dependencies in IB Global Markets would be an advantage
•analytical and conceptual skills and a structured and results-driven way of working
•prior experience within an operational risk management / control function within the banking industry
•presentation and organizational skills with an ability to effectively interact with global colleagues at all levels
•work ethic and a demonstrated ability to work well under pressure and handle challenging deadlines
•flexibility and ability to adapt to different cultures, content, tasks and projects
•communication skills (oral and written)
