We’re looking for a senior UI/Architect who will drive the solutions design for the trading platform UI layer within the Workflow Engineering Crew for the Agency Trading Stream;

• Lead the design and development of the Agency trading UI framework by building re-usable componentised panels in UBS Neo
• Contribute to the design and architecture of the view server and API services
• Manage a team of 5+ developers in the engineering chapter
• Work in an agile pod with the business product owner, UX designers and senior technologists
• Conduct code reviews and test software as needed, along with participating in application architecture, design and other agile practices
• Contribute to building automated unit and integration tests
• Be highly committed, and be able to build very close working relationships with both the business and support teams

Your team

You’ll be working in the Workflow Engineering Crew in the Agency Trading Stream. The Workflow Engineering Crew covers Agency Sales and Trading including Cash Equities, Portfolio Trading, ETD and One Execution. The group endeavours to facilitate client / market share growth, platform simplicity, and consistent product experience delivered across asset classes and geographies.

The long term strategy for the Workflow Engineering Crew is to reduce the technical complexity of our trading platforms by reducing fragmentation. Your pod will responsible for building a new full stack reusable component based multi-asset trading platform using the industry’s latest technologies and deployed on the bank’s strategic Neo portal.

Your expertise

You have:
• Ideally 10-15 years experience in a similar role and you will have experience of managing a team of 5+ developers
• Proven Experience in designing and delivering Front Office Trading platforms written in React HTML5
• In-depth knowledge of JavaScript, Typescript, CSS, HTML
• Knowledge of React tools including React.js, Webpack, Redux and React Hooks
• Experience developing highly responsive user interface components that work in high volume, real time environments
• Experience with managing large data sets
• Experience evaluating and improving front-end performance with Chrome dev-tools
• Experience with user interface design and principles
• Experience with specifying and implementing front end architecture
• Experience with REST APIs, streaming APIs and the design of communication protocols
• Experience with git source control and continuous integration, gitlab ci/di being an advantage
• An experienced technologist with a strong understanding of emerging and cloud technologies
• Experienced in communicating with senior leadership and proven communication skills to work across technical and business teams
• Experience and understanding of Global Markets business and front office trading workflows
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a similar field.
