Your role

We are looking for a Asset Allocation Strategist to:

- Support tactical asset allocation recommendations by driving the development of portfolio construction methodologies, including performance measurement and risk management.
- Monitor tactical investment performance across the full range of strategies, recommending adjustments as needed based on research and the evaluation of potential investments.
- Take a leading role in the US in developing Capital Market Assumptions (CMAs) and Strategic Asset Allocations (SAAs), working in partnership with the Global Asset Allocation team and key internal stakeholders.
- Analyze long-term economic and market trends to inform the development of CMAs and SAAs.
- Lead research on portfolio strategy considerations, such as the cost of staying in cash, potential drawdown and recovery time for different portfolios, and portfolio rebalancing strategies.
- Collaborate with Global Investment Management in GWM on the development and marketing of CIO-aligned House View SMAs.
- Present research findings within CIO and to a wide array of stakeholders in GWM, and contribute to the creation of research publications.

Your team

You will be joining the US asset allocation team in the Chief Investment Office (CIO) within UBS Global Wealth Management (GWM). The CIO aims to provide institutional quality investment advice to private wealth clients by researching and communicating investment opportunities and portfolio strategies. The US asset allocation team plays a central role in this entire process, reflected by the development of the UBS “House View,” which is the overall economic, market, and asset allocation view for GWM. The team is responsible for producing tactical and strategic asset allocation recommendations for the US business, supporting Financial Advisors through Discretionary and Advisory channels. The team is comprised of experienced investment management professionals, working in close collaboration with CIO colleagues in the US and globally.

Your expertise

- A BA or Master’s degree or equivalent (e.g., CFA), preferably with a quantitative focus.
- Ideally 7+ years of experience in a finance role with similar responsibilities, including portfolio strategy, portfolio construction, and quantitative methods.
- Experience working within an organization supporting institutional quality investment processes.
- A confident decision-maker, highly organized and detail oriented.
- Capable of communicating complicated economic, finance, and portfolio concepts to a general investor audience.
- Strong Excel, Bloomberg, and PowerPoint skills, and familiarity with Matlab or comparable programming languages.
- Series 7 and 66 (or equivalent) or willing to obtain immediately upon hire.
