Are you passionate about operational risk and keen to understand how an Investment Bank manages it? Are you self-motivated, driven, and able to lead workstreams to meet deadlines? Do you have the confidence to constructively challenge processes and provide innovative solutions?
We’re looking for someone who can support the Investment Bank in its first-line control and operational risk management activities, specifically to:

•Be an active member of the Global Banking (GB) Business Risk Management team, working closely with the GB business, GB COO, and partners in Operational Risk and Compliance
•Understand and support the implementation of the Operational Risk Framework across GB (including key controls, issues/actions, and event management)
•Execute key controls on behalf of the GB business (such as physical access and marketing material reviews) and identify ways to enhance these controls, including through AI and automation
•Coordinate the GB review and endorsement of Group Policies and associated controls
•Design and produce management information for key GB governance forums
•Provide proactive and constructive challenge across all aspects of the role, encouraging best practice and striving for global consistency
•Take an active role in GB projects such as risk and control assessments

Your team

You’ll be part of the Business Risk Management team supporting Global Banking. As the first line of defence, we are responsible for embedding and maintaining the Group Non-Financial Risk Framework (NFRF) to manage the Front Office risk environment and deliver operational risk management change projects. The NFRF provides an integrated approach to managing and operating our business, helping us understand the cause and effect of operational risks, consistently assess and manage all areas of risk, identify and prioritise gaps, and evidence effective and compliant principles and practices.

Your expertise

•Ideally 1–3 years of experience.
•Understanding of operational risk frameworks and controls.
•Proficiency with Office 365 applications, including Excel (vlookups, pivot tables) and creating PowerPoint presentations.
•Basic understanding or experience in Investment Banking and general knowledge of the Global Banking product suite would be beneficial.
•analytical, problem-solving, and organisational skills with high attention to detail.
•work ethic and ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver to deadlines; results-oriented with a track record of continuous process improvement.
•Experience in process improvement using automation (desirable).
•Confident relationship-building and interpersonal skills.
